Thoughts on Psycho-Pass

psycho pass really reminds of sherlock holmes. the enforcers are able to understand criminals because they have a similar mind set.

makishima is described as a criminal master mind who allows others to commit crimes -> moriarty.

and in episode 9 it is said that crime and those who investigate them are two sides of the same coin - which is similar to what moriarty says to holmes on one occasion, implying that holmes is also a criminal.

That aside now that I have actually finished the first season. Tsunenori Akane really shone in this series but it was also very satisfying to see Masaoka and Nobuchika's father-son relationship develop. I always thought the sullen guy needed a haircut or a face change anyway.

As far as villains go, Makishima Shougo is the ultimate boss. And what a dignified death he managed as well.

I reckon this tops Shin Sekai Yori as far as the setting is concerned.
