On "Aku no Hana"

I am thoroughly enjoying this rotoscoped version. What? Yes. I am enjoying this. The director has been masterful and has created a dark atmosphere that is oily with tension through sound, colour, music etc. The characters are human, but the rotoscoping has been used to good effect. I prefer this to live action.

It brings out the feelings of the manga in a way the manga could not for me, mostly as the art style was little out of place imo.

Shares a name with Gisele Bundchen but is completely out of the world. This is someone who is genuinely what you would call "loosely tethered to the real world" and whose existence is incomprehensibly fragile.

I hadn't seen her for about ten months and could not believe how much she had shrunk. She is taller than me by at least 6 inches. Her face seemed cleaner and fresher than ever before but somehow tired all the same.

Her nails hadn't changed much. She still wore the fake ones, bright pink.

Worried and sad to see her go.
